Change is often very scary to experience because of the unknown that is linked to it. My beloved said regarding this fear:
“Fear Allah so that you don’t hate the unknown. He knows the unknown and He will protect you.”
Yes! Na’aam! I agree fully. As this year is setting out to be a year of many changes for me personally, I have decided to embrace it fully with Tawakkul (complete reliance and trust in Allah Azza Wajal).
In addition to the fear and discomfort that often accompany change, there is also the realization that everything is temporary.
As I am packing my belongings for another home, another city, another community, I realize that nothing is permanent.
I am reminded of the hadith of our dear prophet, peace and blessings be upon him regarding the traveler status of the believer in this world.
Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler along a path.”
Ibn Umar would say, “If you make it to the evening, do not wait for the morning. If you make it to the morning, do not wait for the evening. Take from your health for your sickness, and from your life for your death.”

Change helps the believer to detach from this world. You are always moving from one stage to another, you really don’t have the luxury to be too comfortable in this world. You are reminded that even your stay on top of the earth is temporary. No matter where you move to, from a palace to a bench, in the end, one day, you will change home again for a home below the earth.
May Allah make our stay in the Hereafter the best stay we ever experienced . May He preserve us from the torments of the grave.
Jannah is our eternal comfort zone, once there, we won’t worry about changing homes ever again.
Let’s strive, change, move out of our comfort zone in this life so we can finally rest in peace in eternal bliss.

May every second lived be a witness of positive change for us. Aameen.
